 Anil is 9 years older than Sujit. After 10 years Anil's will be twice as old as Sujit was 10 years ago. Find their present age.

Soln. Let Sujit's present age is x years.

So, Anil's present age is (x+9) years.

After 10 years Anil's age will be

 (x+9+10) years 

=(x+19) years.

And 10 years ago Sujit's age was

 (x-10)years.

Now, 2(x-10)=x+19

       Or, 2x-20=x+19,

       Or, 2x-x=19+20,

       Or, x=39.

So, Sujit's present age is 39

and Anil's present age is

 (39+9)years=48 years.
